March 9, 2025 - LOWELL, MA - The Massachusetts Pirates have signed defensive lineman Michael Thompson for the 2025 season.
Thompson most recently was in rookie minicamp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League in May of 2024. Thompson, a highly sought after recruit out of Parkway North High School in St. Louis. MO, attended three colleges after his days as a prep star.

March 9, 2025 - LOWELL, MA - The Massachusetts Pirates have Marcis Floyd for the 2025 season. The 6'0", 200 lb. defensive back last played at the University of West Virginia in 2023. Floyd was a member of the Mountaineers for two seasons and appeared in 23 games making 19 starts. He recorded 113 tackles with two sacks and an interception. Floyd also defended 11 passes and forced a fumble while recovering another. Twice in his redshirt senior season of 2023 he notched seven tackles in a game.

March 9, 2025 - LOWELL, MA - The Massachusetts Pirates have elevated Frederick Griggs to be the Head Coach for the 2025 season. The move was made when acting Head Coach Ameer Ismail declined to start the season in order to pursue other opportunities.
In October of 2024 Griggs was re-hired by the Pirates and named Associate Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach for the 2025 campaign after joining the team last season in June as a Defensive Backs Coach. Bleekrode began his collegiate career at Furman University where he played from 2018 (a redshirt season) through 2021. A two-time Academic Honor Roll student, Bleekrode was also an All-Southern Conference second team punter in 2020. His career average with the Paladins was 42.9.
