July 15, 2026 - The Coachella Valley Firebirds announced today that the organization has hired Scott Ford as an assistant coach. Ford, 46, brings more than a decade of professional coaching experience to the Firebirds after spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach with the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets. July 9, 2026 - The Coachella Valley Firebirds announced the team's 72-game regular season schedule for its upcoming fifth season. The Firebirds open the season at home with a matchup against the Ontario Reign on Friday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. PT. Firebirds Sign Forward Mitchell Stephens to Two-Year Contract

July 8, 2026 - The Coachella Valley Firebirds announced today that the team has signed forward Mitchell Stephens to a two-year American Hockey League contract through the 2027-28 season. Stephens, 29, returns to Coachella Valley after appearing in 69 games with the Firebirds during the 2025-26 season, recording 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points. Max McCormick Announces Retirement

June 10, 2026 - The Coachella Valley Firebirds announced today that team captain, forward Max McCormick has retired from professional hockey following a 12-season career. McCormick, 34, retires as the franchise's all-time leader in goals (67), ranking second all-time in points (140), and having played in the third-most games in team history (158). The Green Bay, WI native collected an additional 38 points (22 goals, 16 assists) in 44 postseason games with Coachella Valley, helping lead the team to back-to-back Western Conference Champion...
