The only hit for Florence was a ninth-inning leadoff single for outfielder Pablo Bermudez that just crept over the leap of second baseman Taylor Black.

Zielinski started the night by hitting shortstop Junior Arrojo on the very first pitch of the game. He followed that up by getting a double play on the strikeout of outfielder David Harris and subsequent caught stealing of Arrojo at second base.

Zielinski retired 13 batters in a row at one point before catcher Jim Jacquot reached on a two-out fifth inning walk.

Scoreless in the bottom of the fifth, Evansville got a leadoff double from catcher John Nester. He moved to third on the sacrifice bunt from outfielder Deaun Williams and scored on a sacrifice fly from shortstop Ryan Kresky.

Ahead 1-0, Zielinski struck out the side in the seventh inning and struck out another two men in the eighth inning.

Evansville added to their lead in the eighth inning with a two-run home run from outfielder Nick Schwaner and a solo home run from first baseman Andrew Clark. It was the first time the Otters recorded back to back home runs this season.

After allowing his only hit of the night, Zielinski then struck out the last three batters of the game, falling one strikeout shy of the Evansville Otters all-time record (Chris Pillsbury with 16 on August 8, 2006).

Evansville has now won eight straight home games and four games overall.

The Otters will look for their fifth straight win on Saturday night. Lefty Ryan Zamorsky (2-0, 0.00 ERA) will be on the mound for Evansville. He will be opposed by fellow left-hander Brent Choban (2-0, 3.91). It is Evansville Teacher's Federal Credit Union Night at Historic Bosse Field. First pitch will take place at 6:35 p.m. CDT.
