Younger Sparre Joins Inferno

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Columbia Inferno have signed rookie left wing Kris Sparre, head coach and director of hockey operations Troy Mann announced today.

Sparre, 21, has 37 points (22 goals, 15 assists) and 35 penalty minutes in 59 games while splitting the 2007-08 season with the Barrie Colts and Mississauga St. Michael's Majors of the Ontario Hockey League. The 5-foot-9, 170-pounder from Mississauga, Ontario has 92 points (52 goals, 40 assists) and 75 penalty minutes in 150 career OHL games with Barrie and Mississauga from 2005-06 through 2007-08. Sparre, the younger brother of Inferno left wing Daniel Sparre, also earned two penalty minutes in one game with the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League during the 2005-06 season.

The Inferno return to the Carolina Coliseum to host the Florida Everblades on Friday, March 14 at 7:05 p.m.
