
Wranglers Welcome Lawrence, Add Taylor

LAS VEGAS, NV -The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today the team has agreed to terms with left wing Mick Lawrence. In a separate transaction, the Wranglers announced that forward Justin Taylor has signed a tryout agreement.
Mick Lawrence begins his professional career with Las Vegas after spending the last four years at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Lawrence enjoyed his senior season with the Mavericks, scoring 21 goals and grabbing 40 points in 38 games last year. For his college career, the 5-foot-10, 205-pound left wing scored 51 goals and assisted on 51 others for 102 points in 146 NCAA games. The Port Coquitlam, BC native recently attended NHL training camp with the Ottawa Senators and AHL training camp with the Binghamton Senators.
Justin Taylor enters his fifth season of professional hockey. His four previous seasons were all played at the AHL level with Omaha, Lowell and Norfolk. In an injury shortened season in 2007-08, Taylor scored three goals and totaled five points in seven games with the Norfolk Admirals. Taylor played in Omaha from 2005 to 2007, totaling 24 goals and 31 assists for 55 points in 124 games played. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound center spent his rookie season with the Lowell Lock Monsters in 2004-05. In all, Taylor has 193 games of professional experience. The Edmonton, AB native has 35 career goals and 36 assists for 71 career points.
The Wranglers have announced a total of 26 players in training camp for the 2008-09 Preseason. Defensemen Brandon Straub, Jim Jorgensen, Michael Beynon, Gerard Miller, Bret Tyler, Jason Dest, Mark Lutz and Mike Madill have all agreed to terms for 2008-09. Forwards Tim Spencer, Mick Lawrence, Matt McKnight, Luke Hunter, Tyler Mosienko, Mike Hamilton, Jordan Hack, Adam Miller, Chris Ferraro, Peter Ferraro and Brandon Kaleniecki have also signed. Forwards Jimmy Kilpatrick, Justin Taylor and Chris Neiszner are signed to tryout agreements. Left wing Shawn Limpright continues to rehab from off-season surgery. Two-time Central Hockey League Goalie of the Year John DeCaro has also agreed to terms for the upcoming season. Defenseman Brandon Straub and forward Matt Beaudoin remain in the American Hockey League.
Las Vegas will play two more preseason games. The Wranglers will meet the Condors at Rabobank Arena tonight at 7:00 pm. Las Vegas will conclude its preseason schedule with a game in Ontario against the expansion Reign. The Wranglers will meet the Reign at 5:00 pm at the Center Ice Arena in Ontario, CA on Sunday, October 12th.
2008-09 season seat packages are on sale now at (702) 471-PUCK. The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at the Orleans Arena, located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue.
Opening night is scheduled for Thursday, October 23rd at the Orleans Arena. Individual game tickets are on sale now at (702) 284-7777.
