Penguins Re-Assign Two To Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned goaltender David Brown from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers, it was announced on Thursday. Additionally, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has loaned forward Jordan Morrison to the Nailers.

Brown, 23, allowed four goals in 20 minutes of play during an 8-4 loss to Hershey on Wednesday night. The second-year pro recorded a 9-7-1 record with a 2.34 goals against average and a .913 save percentage in 19 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season. He also posted a 6-6-1 record with a 3.31 goals against average and a .913 save percentage in 13 games with Wheeling last season.

The former Notre Dame netminder was originally selected by Pittsburgh in the eighth round (228th overall) of the 2004 NHL Draft. He was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award during his senior season with the Fighting Irish.

Morrison, 22, did not dress for the Penguins season opener against Hershey on Wednesday. He led Dalhousie University (CIS) with 20 assists and 33 points last season, and posted three points (1+2) in four regular season games with the Texas Wildcatters (ECHL) last year. He also posted four points (2+2) in nine playoff games with Texas.
