Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today the team has re-signed General Manager / Head Coach Glen Gulutzan to a contract extension through the 2007-08 season.

"Glen has done a tremendous job for us over the past three seasons and to re-sign him was an easy decision," said Wranglers owner Charles Davenport. "We feel that Glen has put the Wranglers on the map and that he is the coach that can bring a Kelly Cup Championship to Las Vegas."

Under Gulutzan, the Wranglers have posted a 115-65-21 record during the past three seasons, including a 41-10-6 record this season. The only coach in team history led the Wranglers to their second playoff appearance in only three seasons, clinching the playoff spot in late February. This season, the Wranglers are on pace to set team records for most wins in one season (43) and most wins at home (29). The team already set new marks for road wins (19) and the longest winning streak in Las Vegas history at 12, two shy of the ECHL's all-time record. The team tied a league record by winning ten consecutive games on the road from late November to late December. The team also posted a 17-0-2 record from November 22nd to December 31st. For his success this season, Gulutzan was named Head Coach of the National Conference All-Star Team at the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game in Fresno.

Gulutzan enjoyed a nine-year professional playing career that included stops in Finland, Sweden, Utah, Las Vegas and Fresno. The latter years of Gulutzan's career were spent with the Fresno Falcons, where he completed four seasons as a player-assistant coach. His tenure in Fresno included two appearances in the Taylor Cup Finals, and one Taylor Cup championship in 2001-02. Gulutzan, a two-time WCHL All-Star, is the Falcons' all-time leading scorer with 425 points. In December of 2003, Fresno honored Gulutzan by retiring his jersey (#21). Gulutzan was also instrumental in growing the youth hockey program in the Fresno area, and served as the director of the Two-One Hockey School in Fresno from 2002-04.

Gulutzan was born in The Pas, Manitoba, and resides in Las Vegas, with his wife Nicole and their two daughters, Emma (4) and Brielle (2) and son Landon (1).
