TRENTON, NJ (March 7, 2006) - The Trenton Titans were able to battle back from two separate three-goal deficits, but could not complete the comeback in a 5-4 loss to the Greenville Grrrowl in front of 3,019 at the Sovereign Bank Arena.

Down 2-0 after the first period, the Titans found themselves in a three-goal hole at 8:57of the second when Allan Sirois tipped home Rory McMahon's cross-ice feed past Rejean Beauchemin.

Brian McConnell would get the scoring started for Trenton a 1:18 later when he pounced on a loose puck in the slot and wristed his fifth goal of the year past Cam Ellsworth.

The Titans cut the Grrrowl's lead to one goal at 14:34 of the middle frame with a shorthanded goal by Scott Bertoli - his team-leading eighteenth tally of the season.

Coming out in the third period, Greenville quickly made it a three-goal lead once again as, just 2:02 apart, John Snowden notched a power play goal and Brock Rudunske recorded his 30th marker to make it 5-2.

McConnell picked up his second of the night thirty-seven seconds afterward as he banged home the rebound from Aaron's Gill's snapshot.

Trenton pulled within a goal one more time after Mike Jarmuth put a slapshot inside the near post on the man-advantage, but the Titans could draw no closer.

The Titans' losing streak reaches five games despite outshooting the Grrrowl 47-25.

Trenton finished 1-for-7 on the power play and 4-for-5 on the penalty kill.

The Trenton Titans head to Johnstown to take on the Chiefs on Friday, March 10 at 7:30pm. You can listen to all of the live Titans action on 91.3FM-WTSR or at www.trentontitans.com courtesy of b2 Networks.
