
Wranglers Fall to Aces, 4-1

Las Vegas, Nev- The Las Vegas Wranglers® were defeated by the Alaska Aces Friday night at the Orleans Arena. Aaron Power had the lone goal for the Wranglers while on the power play. Brian Swanson, Scott Howes, Jerad Stewart, and Dan Kissel all tallied for the Aces. Both teams converted once with their matching six power play opportunities. Aces' goalie Gerald Coleman improved his record to 25-14-1 while turning away 17 of the 18 shots he faced. Michael Ouzas slides to 17-14-2 on the season as he allowed three goals on 30 shots. With the win Alaska improves to 40-21-3 on the season as they hold the top spot in the Mountain division and Western conference with 83 total points. The loss puts the Wranglers on their first four-game losing streak of the season as they slide to 35-23-5 but still hold the top spot in Pacific division with 75 total points.
Friday night's game saw no goals in the opening frame but the Aces would dominate the second period. Brian Swanson opened the scoring at 3:27 of the second period with his twenty-second goal of the season assisted by Scott Howes and Wes Goldie. Alaska made it 2-0 at 5:30 of the second period while on the power play with Scott Howes' twenty-first goal of the season unassisted. Jerad Stewart made it 3-0 at 16:12 of the second period with his seventh goal of the season assisted by Scott Burt. After two periods of play the Wranglers were trailing 3-0 and had been outshot 21-12.
Las Vegas answered back at 13:16 of the third period while on the power play with Aaron Power's seventh goal of the season assisted by Ryan Huddy and Tyler Mosienko. Las Vegas pulled Ouzas for the extra skater late in the third period but Dan Kissel managed to lift one in from the red line to give the Aces the 4-1win.
The same two teams battle again tomorrow night at the Orleans Arena. The puck drops at 7:05PM.
