
More Roster Moves for Blades Before Crucial Weekend Series at Gwinnett

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that goaltender Jaroslav Janus has been recalled to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League and that defenseman Deron Cousens has agreed to terms with the club.
For Janus (pronounced: YAHN-is) the call-up is his fifth to the Admirals this season. During his last stint with Norfolk the 21-year-old made his second AHL appearance, suffering a 4-1 on March 6 at Binghamton. Overall this season with the Admirals, Janus is 0-2-0 with a 5.75 goals against average.
With the Everblades this season Janus has seen action in 26 games, posting an 11-13-0 record with a 3.06 GAA and a .911 save percentage.
A 6th round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2009, Janus began the 2009-10 campaign by seeing action in 13 games with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League where he posted a record of 7-4-2 with a 2.81 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. The Presov, Slovakia native finished out the year playing in 13 games with the Admirals where he was 7-6-0 with a 2.07 GAA and a .922 save percentage.
Cousens (pronounced: KUH-zins) joins the Everblades after wrapping up a four-year collegiate career at Michigan Tech. The 23-year-old finished his senior season at Michigan Tech tied for first on the team in scoring and leading all defenseman in scoring with 21 points (2g, 19a) in 38 games. Over his four-year career with the Huskies, the Georgetown, Ontario native posted 52 points (9g, 43a) in 133 games.
The Everblades return to action on Friday, March 18 when they travel to Gwinnett to take on the Gladiators at 7:35 p.m. from The Arena at Gwinnett Center. The Everblades' next home game is Wednesday, March 23 when they host the Wheeling Nailers at 7:30 p.m. from Germain Arena.
