
Ricci Returns to Rays from AHL

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Cail MacLean announced today that forward Rob Ricci has returned to the team from the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League.
Ricci, 26, skated in 60 games with the Stingrays this season recording 48 points (22g, 26a) and is tied for second in the ECHL with four shootout goals and five shorthanded points (3g, 2a). In five games with the Rivermen, the Brampton, ON native recorded no points and netted the game-winning shootout goal on March 11 in a 5-4 victory over the Chicago Wolves. Last season, Ricci finished 11 among ECHL rookies with 25 goals and 25 assists for 50 points in 72 games with the Rays. During the 2009 ECHL Playoffs, Ricci dressed in seven contests and netted one goal as the Stingrays captured their ECHL-record third Kelly Cup title. Prior to turning pro, the 5-foot-9, 165-pound forward skated for three seasons at Merrimack College grabbing 83 points (34g, 49a) in 99 games.
