
Joel Broda Returns from Houston

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, announced today that C Joel Broda has been reassigned from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League to Bakersfield.
Broda, 21, returns for his third stint with the Condors this year. Broda originally came to Condorstown on Dec. 10, and played four straight games from the 10th to the 18th. The Condors recorded wins in all four of those matchups and Broda posted 7 points (2g-5a).
The Yorkton, SK native came back to Bakersfield on Jan. 19, this time remaining with the Condors until the beginning of March. Broda was the Condors most effective player during February, scoring 11 goals and adding 3 assists for 14 points in 12 games. He also scored two shorthanded goals during that span, and helped lead the Condors to an 7-4-1 record during the month. He was awarded the Kern Trophies Condors Player of the Month for his efforts, and finished runner-up for the ECHL Rookie of the Month.
Broda has appeared in 22 games with the Aeros this season, scoring 5 goals and adding 2 assists for 7 points. The 6 foot, 203 pound center has played in two games with Houston since being recalled on March 3.

The Condors host the Ontario Reign tonight for Skateboard Deck Giveaway. The first 2,000 fans age 17 and under will receive a Condors Skateboard Deck, courtesy of ABC23 and 106.1 KRAB Radio.
On Saturday, the Condors Fighting Cancer Hockey-thon concludes after over 24 hours of hockey, as the Condors look to raise money for Links for Life in the Battle against breast cancer, sponsored by 29 Eyewitness News and KUZZ 107.9.
