Wranglers Edged by Grizzlies, 3-1

Salt Lake City, UT - The Las Vegas Wranglers® (18-21-4, 40 Points) were defeated by the Utah Grizzlies (19-19-4, 42 Points) 3-1 in front of 7,043 fans Saturday night at The E-Center. Utah forward Lance Galbraith scored the game-winning goal with just 2:01 remaining in regulation to give the Grizzlies the win. Defenseman Matt Clarke and forward Dylan Hunter also tallied for Utah. Grizzlies goalie Beau Erickson stopped 31 of 32 shots to improve to 4-5-1 this season. Defenseman John Schwarz scored the lone Las Vegas goal. Wranglers goalie Joel Gistedt stopped 32 shots in the loss. The Wranglers take on the Utah Grizzlies Saturday, January 30th at 6:05 p.m. at The E-Center.

After a scoreless first period, Utah would take the first lead of the game with a goal from defenseman Matt Clarke at 5:58 of the second. Clarke finished off an individual effort for his second goal of the season and a 1-0 Utah lead. Las Vegas would answer back with a tally from defenseman John Schwarz at 7:07. Forwards Josh Prudden and Mick Lawrence set up Schwarz first goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1.

With just 2:01 remaining in the third period, Utah forward Lance Galbraith scored to break the stalemate. Forward Tony Romano and defenseman Matt Sorteberg set up Galbraith's fourth goal of the season to give the Grizzlies the 2-1 lead. With just 48-seconds remaining in regulation, Utah forward Dylan Hunter sailed the puck into a vacant Wranglers' net to seal the 3-1 Grizzlies victory.
