ESTERO, FL - Ryan Ginand recorded a hat trick and four points in the Devils 6-3 win over the Everblades Saturday night. The Devil win was their second over the Everblades in three times this week. Overall, Florida battled Trenton five times in the regular season and finished 3-2-0.
Trenton jumped up 1-0 early on a Matt Vokes goal just 3:48 into the game. Andy Thomas and Ryan Ginand recorded helpers on the goal. Ginand then struck on a shorthanded situation at 8:51 to put the Devils up 2-0. On the same power play, Florida answered on a Brandon Buck goal to make it 2-1. Ginand would extend the Trenton lead to two goals again at 17:04 with his second goal of the period and 8th goal of the season. Thomas picked up his second assist and Tony Zancanaro pitched in his first point of the contest.
Florida fought back in the second stanza with two power play goals from Milan Gajic. In both instances Gajic stuck rebound opportunities into the back of the net on shots from Mike Bayrack and Ross Carlson. The tallies for Gajic were his third and fourth markers in the last two games and fifth and sixth tallies overall in just 14 games played this season. Scott Hotham and Ross Carlson were also credited with assists on the Gajic goals. Deadlocked at three, Trenton recaptured the lead on a power play goal by Ryan Ginand at 10:07 of the period. Ginand completed the hat trick with a wrist shot from the left circle to give Trenton a one-goal edge. Justin Coutu made the score 5-3 with just 32-seconds left in the period with a blueline blast that knuckleballed past Chris Beckford-Tseu.
In the third, Dan Eves scored for Trenton to extend their lead to 6-3 with his 10th goal of the season. Florida finished three of seven on the man advantage while Trenton was one of seven. David Caruso recorded his seventh win in net for Trenton stopping 33 shots.
