ROSTER UPDATE:
F Stephane Goulet was placed on 3-IR today, while G Josh Johnson was transferred to the 7-IR (eligible to be activated on Feb. 2) and RW Jason Dale was activated from 7-IR... G Tim Potter was added Friday as Emergency Back-Up Goaltender... D Bobby Davey was acquired by the Condors from Stockton for future considerations on Jan. 21... Also on Jan. 21, D Eric Regan was reassigned by the Anaheim Ducks to the Condors, from San Antonio (AHL), and D Sasha Pokulok signed a Professional Try-Out contract (PTO) with the Springfield Falcons in the American Hockey League.
THE MATCHUP:
The Bakersfield Condors and Idaho Steelheads face off for the second night in a row and second time this season. The Steelheads rolled up a 6-3 victory on Friday night, in a game that saw the Condors set a season-high with 85 penalty minutes. Idaho scored five times on the power play, LW Evan Barlow had 2g-2a and LW Mark Derlago had four assists in his return to Condorstown as a member of the opposition. LW Ryan Donally, F Mathieu Aubin and RW Nick Kemp all scored for the Condors in the loss. Both the Condors and the Steelheads have led their divisions since the start of the 2009-10 season. The Condors are 35-50-10 in 95 all-time games against Idaho, including a 22-22-5 mark at home.
CONDORS NOTES:
Bakersfield had allowed just three power play goals in their previous eight contests, but surrendered five on 12 man advantages Friday... C Adam Naglich had his four-game point streak snapped last night... D Eric Regan (1g-4a) and D Mark Mitera (0g-3a) both have three-game point streaks... G Timo Pielmeier has played in 12 straight games and 23 of the last 24 games. He leads the ECHL with 19 wins... D Bobby Davey is expected to make his Condors debut tonight... LW Shawn Weller led the team with seven shots on goal Friday, and ranks 3rd in the ECHL with 156 shots this season.
