February 17, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Worcester Sharks News Release

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr announced today that Worcester Sharks Equipment Manager Vinny Ferraiuolo will serve his 1,000th game as an Equipment Manager in professional hockey when the Sharks travel to Binghamton to face the Senators on Friday, February 19, 2010.

"The Sharks have been extremely fortunate to have an NHL-caliber equipment manager handle our club over the last several seasons," said Lehr. "Vinny is a huge asset to our hockey club and I would like to congratulate him for reaching the 1,000 game plateau."

Very few athletic trainers or equipment managers ever reach this milestone. In Vinny's case, his achievement comes after thirteen seasons in Professional Hockey. The 1000th game landmark is a testament to Vinny's commitment, professionalism and endurance.

Vincent (Vinny) Ferraiuolo is in his 13th season as equipment manager, his fifth as head equipment manager with San Jose's top development affiliate in the AHL. Before joining the Sharks, Ferraiuolo spent a season with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and three with the Providence Bruins, including part of the Calder Cup Champions club in 1999. Ferraiuolo was named as equipment manager for the 2000 and 2009 AHL All-Star Classics for Planet USA. The native of Roanoke, Va. has also served as the assistant equipment manager for the New York Islanders and head equipment manager for the Texas Wildcatters (a now-defunct ECHL team) and the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).

In honor of Vinny's achievement, the Sharks will present him with a special gift at an upcoming Sharks home game at the DCU Center.

The Sharks continue their six game road swing in Binghamton on Friday (7p.m.) and in Hartford on Saturday (7p.m.).
