Adirondack Phantoms News Release
GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, announced today that left wing Krys Kolanos has undergone successful hip surgery and will begin rehabbing immediately.
Kolanos' surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Thomas Byrd on Tuesday, February 16th at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He will begin rehab on Wednesday, although no return date has been set at this time.
Kolanos, 28, has not played since January 16th at Norfolk, when he carried a three-game point streak (3 goals, 2 assists) into the AHL All-Star Break. The Calgary, Alberta native has 15 points (9 goals, 6 assists) in 27 games for Adirondack this season; he has missed the Phantoms' last 13 games due to this injury. Over parts of five NHL seasons with Phoenix Coyotes, Edmonton and Minnesota, Kolanos has compiled 41 points (20 goals, 21 assists) in 136 career games.
