WORCESTER, M.A. - The Rochester Red Wings (18-28) took an early lead and slipped by the Worcester Red Sox (29-17) for the third straight night, a 3-2 victory on Friday night at Frontier Field.

After homering four times on Thursday night, Rochester continued its power show in the first. Luis Garcia and Carter Kieboom blasted solo shots off WooSox starter Kyle Hart-Garcia's third homer in two games.

Down 2-0, Worcester answered by loading the bases in the second. Josh Ockimey worked a 3-0 count and took ball four for an RBI walk, scoring Chris Herrmann. An inning later, the WooSox tied it: Franchy Cordero and Jeter Downs singled, and with one out, Herrmann laced a single to center to make it 2-2.

Rochester jumped back on top in the bottom of the frame on a Yadiel Hernandez solo shot, one of three long balls allowed by Hart. The left-hander's night ended after six innings, allowing three runs with four walks and two strikeouts. Following Hart, Zac Grotz and Phillips Valdez each delivered scoreless relief outings.

Offensively, Franchy Cordero and Yairo Muñoz put up two-hit nights, part of a game where Worcester outhit the Red Wings.

The WooSox continue the six-game series Friday in Rochester at 7:05 p.m. Radio coverage starts live from Frontier Field at 6:45 p.m. on 98.9 Nash Icon and the WooSox Radio Network. Worcester is set for a bullpen day, while Lehigh Valley sends Tyler Eppler (1-5, 8.78) to the mound.
