Louisville Bats News Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Alejo Lopez had three more hits and scored three runs and Michael De Leon homered, but the Louisville Bats' comeback effort ultimately fell 90 feet short in the bottom of the eighth inning in a 7-6 loss to the Indianapolis Indians Friday night at Louisville Slugger Field.

Trailing 7-4 in the eighth, Lopez sparked a rally with a leadoff single and came around to score on Narciso Crook's RBI knock to left field. Crook, who finished with two hits and a pair of RBI, is now 4-for-10 with four runs scored, a double, home run and three RBI over his last three games.

TJ Friedl was hit by a pitch earlier in the frame and came plateward when Logan Morrison lined a single into center field to pull the Bats within one run at 7-6.

With the tying run on third, previously-scheduled Tribe starter James Marvel induced a groundout to cap his 5.0 innings of relief and earn the win.

Lopez extended his hit streak to 13 consecutive games, the longest active streak in Triple-A baseball. He also improved his hit total to 71 in 47 games, which leads all of Minor League Baseball by a wide margin.

The Bats and Indians continue their six-game series Saturday at Louisville Slugger field. Reds right-hander Sonny Gray (NR) is scheduled for a rehab start for the Bats.
