
Knights Drop Thursday's Game to Sounds 8-7

(NASHVILLE, TN) -- The Charlotte Knights dropped game three against the Nashville Sounds by a score of 8-7 on Thursday night from First Horizon Park in Nashville, TN. The Sounds scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Third baseman Jake Burger had three hits and three RBIs to lead the Knights. Burger, who is now hitting .303 on the season, finished the game 3-for-6 at the plate. First baseman Gavin Sheets added two hits and two RBIs. Burger and Sheets are now tied for the team lead in RBIs with 32 apiece.
Infielders Matt Reynolds and Tim Beckham continued their solid stretch in the month of June. Reynolds had three hits and three runs scored on the night, while Beckham had two hits and a run scored. Reynolds is hitting .302 on the season. Beckham is the reigning Triple-A East Player of the Week.
RHP Mike Wright started for the Knights and allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits over 5.2 innings pitched. Wright did not factor in the decision on Thursday. LHP Nik Turley (0-2, 1.84) was saddled with the loss after he allowed an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning to Nashville's Jamie Westbrook.
