Knights Fall in Extras to Sounds 5-4

(NASHVILLE, TN) - The Charlotte Knights fell to the Nashville Sounds in 10 innings on Friday night by a score of 5-4 from First Horizon Park in Nashville, TN.

RHP Danny Dopico (0-3, 3.29) was saddled with the loss after he allowed the final two runs to score in the bottom of the 10th inning. The Sounds scored both of their runs in the 10th without registering a hit. Dopico allowed one walk, a wild pitch and hit two batters in the final inning.

Offensively, the Knights had eight hits on the night, two more than the Nashville's six. Shortstop Matt Reynolds continued his hot hitting with three hits, including his second home run of the season. Reynolds upped his season batting average to .314. Left fielder Nick Williams also homered on Friday. He finished the game with two hits.

RHP Jonathan Stiever started for the Knights and allowed three runs on five hits over five innings of work. Stiever, who allowed all three of his runs in the first inning, settled down and held the Sounds scoreless over his final four innings. He struck-out six batters. Relievers Will Carter, Connor Sadzeck and Nik Turley combined for four shutout innings.
