--Chicago watched a one-goal third-period lead slip away as they fell to the Iowa Stars, 2-1, in overtime at the Allstate Arena
--Left wing RAMZI ABID recorded the Wolves' only goal - a power play marker - while right wing SCOTT BARNEY and blueliner TRAVIS ROCHE collected assists
--Goaltender STEVE SHIELDS turned aside 20 of 22 shots in his Wolves debut

RAMZI ABID: Shares first on the Wolves with three assists in five games ... Ranks second on the team with two goals, five points and 17 penalty minutes ... Finished second on the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins with a career-high 26 goals and shared third with a career-most 55 points in 78 games last season

SCOTT BARNEY: Paces the club with three goals - all power-play markers - and six points in five games this season ... Registered a team-most six shots in Saturday's overtime loss against Iowa ... Held to one assist in his last three games after notching three goals and two assists in his first two ... Posted five goals, 11 points and four penalty minutes in 24 career NHL games with the Los Angeles Kings (2002-2004)

TRAVIS ROCHE: Registered assists in each of his last two games after being held off the scoresheet in his first three ... Ranked third among league defensemen during the regular season with a career-high 50 points in 73 games last year ... Named to the AHL's First All-Star Team last season

STEVE SHIELDS: Registered 20 saves in his Wolves debut on Saturday ... Accrued a 79-102-39 mark with a 2.64 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage in 241 career NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres, San Jose Sharks, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers

TIM WEDDERBURN: Leads the team with a +2 plus/minus rating in five games this year ... Registered 10 assists and 60 penalty minutes and ranked third on the Wolves with a +14 plus/minus rating in 65 games last season ... Posted a +7 plus/minus rating during last year's playoffs, which shared third on the team and seventh among AHL blueliners

KARL STEWART: Held scoreless in five games this season after registering a career-high 16 goals in 77 games with Chicago last year ... Racked up a franchise-high 68 minor penalties last season, which was tied for second-most in the AHL

BRAD LARSEN: Tallied one goal in four games with the Wolves this season after amassing career-highs with 26 goals and 49 points in 75 games with the club last year ... Started the season with the Atlanta Thrashers, where he was held scoreless in three contests ... Collected a postseason career-most seven assists and 11 points in 18 playoff games last season

WOLF TRACKS


--The Wolves have lost four straight games, which equals last year's season-high four-game losing streak (Oct. 30 - Nov. 13).
--Chicago has dropped its first two home games after being defeated in back-to-back regular-season contests at the Allstate Arena just once last year.
--The Wolves have lost two games this season when leading after 40 minutes; last season, the team compiled a 33-2-3-1 record when pacing its rivals after 40 minutes.
--Chicago ranks fourth in the league defensively, allowing an average of 2.40 goals per game.
--The Wolves have been outscored, 8-1, in the third period this year.

ONE LOVE

Chicago has been held to one goal in each of its last three games. The Wolves were held to one or fewer goals in a franchise-high four consecutive games from Dec. 6 to 11, 2003.
