Portland Pirates News Release


The Pirates are in first place in the Atlantic Division after a 3-1 win over the Lowell Lock Mosters on Sunday afternoon. Nathan Marsters made 31 saves and Joel Stepp, Zenon Konopka and Aaron Gavey all scored goals for the Pirates in the victory.

The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim announced today that the National Hockey League club has recalled center Aaron Gavey from the Portland Pirates.

Next home game: Friday, October 28th vs. Philadelphia 7:05 p.m. For tickets, call the Civic Center Box Office at (207) 775-3458.

This Saturday is "Hockey Night in Portland" when the Pirates host the Binghamton Senators at 7:05 p.m. After the game, join the players and fans at The Stadium Restaurant and Sports Bar for a post-game celebration. For tickets, call the Civic Center Box Office at (207) 775-3458.

Friday, October 28 vs. Philadelphia - The launch of the new NAPA Auto Parts Chuck-A-Puck.

Saturday, October 29 vs. Binghamton - Saturday night is "Hockey Night in Portland." This Saturday, stop by the post-game event with Pirates players and at The Stadium Restaurant and Sports Bar.

Saturday, November 12 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton - Gold medalist swimmer and Portland native, Ian Crocker will be at the game to meet fans and promote his new DVD "Unfiltered". Saturday will also be Salvation Army Kettle Kick-off Night.

Ticket plans are still available for the 2005-06 season at the Pirates office, located at 531 Congress Street in Portland. Ticket plans start at just $50. IN THE COMMUNITY

Wednesday, October 26 - The entire Pirates team will tour the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center. The new Pirates players will have a chance to introduce themselves to the kids in the hospital and begin to build relationships with the kids and the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital staff.

Thursday, October 27th - Pirates players Joel Perrault and Pierre Parenteau will be at the Foreside Tavern in Falmouth from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Ryan Shannon scored two goals for the Pirates en route to a 4-1 win.

Sunday, October 23rd vs. Lowell (3-1 W)

Nathan Marsters made 31 saves and now ranks second among AHL goaltenders with a 1.33 GAA.
