Wolves Offer Free Tickets to Armed Forces Personnel, Families

April 3, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

To recognize the sacrifices being made by the men and women serving in the Armed Forces and their families at home, the Chicago Wolves are offering free tickets to military personnel; military family members; and Department of Defense employees. Through this offer, those displaying proper military identification at the Allstate Arena Ticket Office will receive a complimentary lower-level ticket to any remaining Wolves regular-season or Calder Cup Playoffs home game, based on availability.

"At a time when so many are making great sacrifices from those serving in the Armed Forces to the families waiting for news at home our organization wanted to extend this small gesture of gratitude," said Wolves Chairman of the Board Don Levin, who served in the United States Marine Corps. "Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to everyone connected with the Armed Forces today, as well as in year's past, for their service to our country."

Since the team's inception in 1994, the Wolves have made a consistent effort to support the Armed Forces, including the team's annual campaign for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve "Toys for Tots" Program during December home games.

"Based on the feedback we're getting, it means a lot that the Chicago Wolves organization is offering free tickets," said John Prue, Recreation Director at the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Office at Great Lakes Naval Station in Great Lakes, Ill. "A chance to get away and at zero cost is a great thing. Our mission is to go out and find low-cost things to offer, and we at MWR are glad to be the administrators of this."
