Mighty Ducks Sign Ferhi to Pro Tryout Contract

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Mighty Ducks signed Sacred Heart University senior goaltender Eddy Ferhi to a pro tryout contract for the remainder of the season.

Ferhi, 23, was the 2002-03 ITECH MAAC Co-Goaltender of the Year. The 6-foot-3, 197-pounder led the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in goals-against average (2.10) and save percentage (.922) while going 12-11-5 with three shutouts in 29 games. Ferhi was a three-time selection as MAAC Goaltender of the Week during the season.

A native of Charenton, France, Ferhi finished his career at Sacred Heart with a 2.63 goals-against average, the best in the school's hockey history. His 36 victories are tied for first all-time, and his 88 games played is the second highest total ever.

Ferhi is expected to report immediately to Cincinnati and be available to play Friday when the Ducks host Chicago at 7:35 p.m. at Cincinnati Gardens.
