Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON, NY - The Binghamton Senators announced today that several check presentations will be made tomorrow night following the conclusion of the Sens home finale against the Canadian Division-leading Hamilton Bulldogs. Game time is 7:05 p.m. at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
The season-long Jack Sherman Toyota Chuck-A-Puck promotion will award a total of $12,000.00 split evenly between the Broome Community College Foundation and the Southern Tier Hockey Association. The promotion's title sponsor will also present a brand new 2003 Toyota vehicle to one of the 39 contestants that were qualified during the on-ice promotion during each of the Sens' 39 regular season home games. Each contestant will receive a key with which they will attempt to start the vehicle. The contestant with the key that starts the engine will drive away with the brand new 2003 Toyota vehicle courtesy of Jack Sherman Toyota.
The Broome Sports Foundation will be presented with a check for $6,249.00, the net proceeds from February 23rd's Celebrity Hockey Classic and Silent Auction featuring appearances by former Buffalo Sabres Larry Playfair and Richie Dunn, and head coaches John Paddock (Binghamton Senators) and Marty McSorely (Springfield Falcons).
The group that will see the biggest windfall from a partnership with the Binghamton Senators will be the Day Nursery Association. Following the Senators' game with the Saint John Flames on Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fame Night on March 14th, the game-worn Hall of Fame jerseys ("Flying B" replacing the primary Senators' logo) were auctioned off to fans in attendance. Dennis Bonvie's #22 jersey fetched the single highest amount during the auction ($1025.00) as part of the total of $7,560.00 (net proceeds) to benefit the Day Nursery Association.
Tickets to Friday's game versus Hamilton, as well as Calder Cup playoff tickets to first round home games #1 & #2, are now on sale at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Arena box office, the Center Ice Team Shop at Metrocenter, or by calling the Sens Hotline at 722-SENS (7367). Fans wishing to put a deposit on 2003-04 season tickets may do so by visiting the Senators' executive offices on the third floor of the Arena or by calling 722-SENS (7367).
