Canucks reassign Reid to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks announced that they have reassigned centre Brandon Reid to the Manitoba Moose.

Reid, 21, was recalled on March 19 for his second stint with the Vancouver Canucks. He earned first star honours for his three point (two goal, one assist) performance against the Nashville Predators on March 20. In seven NHL contests this season, the speedy centreman has notched two goals and three assists for five points and a +4 rating. The Kirkland, PQ native made his NHL debut on March 1 against the Montreal Canadiens. He recorded his first-ever NHL point with an assist in the third period during the 1-1 tie.

Reid is Manitoba's leading scorer with 52 points (18 goals, 34 assists) and 18 penalty minutes. The 5'9" forward has already set season career-highs for points, assists, penalty minutes and power play goals (7). He has registered ten multi-point games this season with the Moose. Reid holds a season team-high five game assist streak (Nov. 01-09/02) and currently has established a career-high seven game point streak (Mar. 5/03-).

Reid was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks with their fifth choice, 208th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He was originally assigned to Manitoba prior to the start of the 2002-03 season on September 25/02 and then reassigned on March 2/03.

Reid will be flying to St. John's and joining the team for their match against the St. John's Maple Leafs on Friday.
