Tentative First Round Home Playoff Dates Set

Binghamton Senators News Release


BINGHAMTON, NY - The Binghamton Senators announced today tentative first round home playoff dates in the event that they gain home ice advantage for the upcoming Calder Cup playoffs.

Binghamton's magic number for clinching the division title sits at two following Wednesday's 3-0 win in Albany. Any combination of Binghamton points gained and Bridgeport points lost totalling two will give the first-year Senators the East Division crown and the #3 seed in the Eastern Conference for the upcoming Calder Cup playoffs. Binghamton can only finish either 3 rd or 5th in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

As the #3 seed, the Sens would open the post-season with Games #1 & #2 in their first round series (best-of-5) at home on Thursday, April 10th, and Friday, April 11th, at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena versus an opponent still to be determined. If necessary, Game #5 would be played at the Arena on Tuesday, April 22nd. Face-off for all three games at the Arena is 7:05 p.m. Dates and times for Games #3 & #4 ,on the road, will be announced once Binghamton's opponent is determined.

The Sens return to the Arena for their final regular season home game Friday versus Canadian Division champion Hamilton at 7:05 p.m. The Sens then visit Albany Saturday (7:05 p.m.) and Providence Sunday afternoon (4:05 p.m.).

Tickets to Friday's game versus Hamilton, as well as Calder Cup playoff tickets to first round home games #1 & #2, are now on sale at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Arena box office, the Center Ice Team Shop at Metrocenter, or by calling the Sens Hotline at 722-SENS (7367). Fans wishing to put a deposit on 2003-04 season tickets may do so by visiting the Senators' executive offices on the t hird floor of the Arena or by calling 722-SENS (7367).
