Connecticut Whale News Release

The Wolf Pack won three out of their four games this past week, to move into second place in the Atlantic Division. The week started poorly, with a 5-1 GEICO Connecticut Cup loss at Bridgeport, but the Pack rebounded at home on Friday, downing Springfield by a score of 4-3. The Wolf Pack came back from a 4-1 first-period deficit to beat Albany 5-4 at the Hartford Civic Center on Saturday, and finished off the week with another come-from-behind effort in Lowell. After trailing the Lock Monsters 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 and 5-3, the Wolf Pack pulled out a 6-5 overtime win. Thomas Pöck netted the game-winner in that one, and totaled 1-5-6 on the week. He is up to 52 points on the season, eclipsing Mike Mottau's 2001-02 franchise record for most points by a defenseman. Jarkko Immonen also had a big week, with 4-2-6. The Wolf Pack put a total of 188 shots on goal in their four games this week, an average of 47 shots per game. That included a 58-shot barrage in Friday's game, which tied a Pack record for most shots in regulation.
