Klepis and Green recalled to Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Jakub Klepis and defenseman Mike Green from Hershey of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

Klepis, 20, has played in 14 games for the Capitals this season, recording one goal and two assists. With Hershey this season he has 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points in 45 games. On Friday Klepis scored the game-winning goal against the Albany River Rats with exactly one minute remaining in sudden death. He also scored the only goal in regulation for Hershey against Philadelphia on Saturday, leading to a 2-1 shootout decision victory for the Phantoms.

Green, 20, has appeared in 17 games for the Capitals this season, including the last six before the Olympic break. He scored his first NHL goal on Feb. 3 when Washington hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs. Green leads all rookie defensemen in the AHL with five goals and 24 assists for 29 points in 43 games.
