Worcester, MA, March 13, 2009: Greg Moore scored two goals, and P.A. Parenteau had the game-winning goal and an assist, as the Hartford Wolf Pack defeated the Worcester Sharks 4-2 Friday night at the DCU Center.

The victory kept the Wolf Pack (36-24-3-3, 78 points) in a first-place tie with Providence in the Atlantic Division.

Miika Wiikman made 32 saves to get the win in net for the Wolf Pack, in only his second appearance in the last 12 games and his fourth in the last 23. Artem Anisimov also scored for Hartford and Patrick Rissmiller had two assists. Worcester got goals from Patrick Traverse and Riley Armstrong.

The Sharks outshot the Wolf Pack 13-9 in a scoreless first period, but the Wolf Pack got a break early in the second, when Worcester captain Ryan Vesce took an interference penalty at 2:59 and Lukas Kaspar was called for holding at 4:14. That gave Hartford a 46-second two-man advantage, and the Wolf Pack capitalized at 4:31, as Anisimov deflected in a shot by Rissmiller from the top of the circles. The tally upped Anisimov's team-leading total to 28.

Then, after generating only one goal through the first 40 minutes, the two teams would combine for five goals in the third.

Moore made it 2-0 for the Wolf Pack with his 20th goal of the season at 4:31, beating Worcester goaltender Thomas Greiss to the glove side off of a pass from Dale Weise. The Sharks answered that only 55 seconds later, on a shot from the slot by Traverse.

Armstrong then tied it at two at 10:52, as his wraparound shot hit the skates of Wolf Pack defenseman Dave Urquhart and trickled over the goal line.

The Wolf Pack grabbed the lead back for good, though, at 14:46, with Parenteau and Rissmiller hooking up on a two-on-one. Rissmiller carried the puck down the left-wing side and handed it toward Parenteau. It hit Parenteau's skate and went up in the air, before Parenteau was able to poke it out of mid-air and into the net.

Moore completed the scoring with an empty-net, power-play goal at 19:42.

The Wolf Pack are back on home ice at the XL Center Saturday night, finishing off the 10-game GEICO Connecticut Cup series against the Sound Tigers. Faceoff is 7:00.
