Wolf Pack "Tip-a-Player" Event Raises over $41,000 for Gaylord Hospital

HARTFORD, March 13, 2009: Northland AEG announced today that the Hartford Wolf Pack Community Foundation's "Tip-a-Player" Dinner and Sports Carnival netted a total of $41,066.

Proceeds from the event, held March 1 at the XL Center, were donated to Gaylord Hospital. In its six-year history, the annual Tip-a-Player extravaganza has generated nearly $286,000 for Gaylord.

Tip-a-Player featured the Wolf Pack players serving dinner and competing for "tips" for the excellence of their service, and for entertaining guests.

Gaylord Hospital is a long-term acute care hospital that specializes in the care and treatment of medically complex patients, rehabilitation and sleep medicine. Long-term acute care (LTAC) is a recognized designation by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for acute care hospitals whose average length of stay is at least 25 days. LTAC hospitals provide specialized care services to manage medical conditions, so that patients with catastrophic or acute illnesses and injuries can work toward recovery.

The Wolf Pack return to action tonight, as they travel to Worcester to take on the Sharks in a 7:05 game (96.5 HD2, www.hartfordwolfpack.com, www.wtic.com, www.ahllive.com). Then the Pack are back on home ice at the XL Center tomorrow night, Saturday, March 14, hosting the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in a GEICO Connecticut Cup tussle (7:00).
