Rockford Travels To San Antonio Tonight
March 13, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rockford IceHogs News Release
San Antonio, Tex.- The road has been kind to the Rockford IceHogs over the past two months and the American Hockey League club hopes that holds true once again tonight as they travel to San Antonio to take on the Rampage at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
Rockford has gone four straight games without a win overall, however, with the team's last victory coming in San Antonio on March 28. Rockford is 2-2-0-0 against the Rampage this season and tonight's game is the second of three on the campaign in San Antonio.
Since Jan. 29 Rockford is 8-3-0-1 away from the Rockford MetroCentre to move their road record to 14-13-0-2 for the season. Rockford currently sits in third place in the AHL's West Division, three points behind the Houston Aeros for second but just two points ahead of the Iowa Chops who sit in fifth.
Bryan Bickell has made an impact for Rockford since returning from injury. In his two games since his return, Bickell has two goals and an assist. Center Tyler Mosienko also made his presence felt for the IceHogs in his debut on Wednesday potting a goal and registering a plus/minus of +2.
The IceHogs three-game road swing includes a stop in Houston on Sunday and Iowa next Friday night. After the three games, the IceHogs will have played the same amount of home games as road games in 2008-09.
Tonight's game can be heard on 1330 AM WNTA in Rockford or on the Web through www.icehogs.com. To watch, log onto www.icehogs.com and catch all the action through AHL Live for just $7 or in Rockford at SportsPage on Alpine and Broadway.
Next Home Game: Saturday, March 21 vs. Manitoba Moose. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The Rockford IceHogs welcome the first-place Moose into the Forest City for the final of two visits in 2008-09. The first 2,000 fans can pick up a replica Goalie Mask Bank courtesy of MembersAlliance Credit Union.
