ALBANY, N.Y. (Mar. 9, 2011) - Chad Wiseman scored an improbable four goals in the final 9:35 of the third period, including the game-winner with 31.6 seconds left in regulation as the Albany Devils stunned the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 5-4 at the Times Union Center in Albany on Wednesday night. With the win, Albany improves to 24-35-1-3. The Sound Tigers fall to 21-35-3-4.

The Sound Tigers took advantage of their first power play opportunity of the night and jumped in front 8:12 into the first period. Jesse Joensuu skated the puck over the blue line and waited by the left faceoff circle before he found Brett Motherwell streaking down the right side. Motherwell took the feed from Joensuu and snapped a shot past Albany netminder Mike McKenna for his fourth goal of the season to give the Sound Tigers a 1-0 lead. Albany had its own power play opportunity later in the period, but Mikko Koskinen stood tall and stopped all 15 shots he faced in the opening frame to carry the Sound Tigers 1-0 lead to the second period.

The top line of Joensuu, Jeremy Colliton and Rhett Rakhshani led to the Sound Tigers next goal. Tic-tac-toe passing entering the Albany zone started from Joensuu at the blue line to Colliton by the left circle, whose centering feed found Rakhshani in front. Rakhshani tapped the puck in for his 14th goal of the season to make the score 2-0 4:35 into the second. Albany's David McIntyre made a great individual play to cut the Sound Tigers lead in half midway through the period. McIntyre gathered the puck in the right circle, came to a quick stop and fired a slap shot over Koskinen's glove to bring Albany within a goal at 2-1. However, the Sound Tigers top line struck back. Colliton and Rakhshani combined to create a turnover at the Albany blue line. Colliton found Joensuu at the top of the slot, and the Pori, Finland native buried a one-timer at 15:35 to give the Sound Tigers a 3-1 lead. Robin Figren pushed the Sound Tigers lead to three with his 13th goal of the year on a rebound 2:21 later as Bridgeport carried a 4-1 lead into the third period.

However, that's when Chad Wiseman would put the Devils on his back. First, he scored from the right faceoff circle with 9:35 left in regulation. Wiseman then scored on a deflection with 3:32 remaining to cut the Sound Tigers lead to 4-3. Wiseman completely erased the deficit when he fired a shot that appeared to carom off Motherwell's skate and past Koskinen with 2:37 remaining. Wiseman completed the improbable comeback when he found the top corner from the left circle with 31.6 remaining. The Sound Tigers had two chances in the final 10 seconds, but McKenna stopped both of them, and Albany came away with the miraculous 5-4 win.

McKenna stopped 29 shots to earn the win for Albany. Koskinen made 40 saves in the loss.

The Sound Tigers return to action Friday night in Providence at 7 pm.
