Idaho Steelheads News Release

Estero, FL - Matt Willow's second tally of the game squeezed behind goaltender Maxime Lagace to push the Florida Everblades (10-4-0) past the Idaho Steelheads (4-6-3) in overtime, 4-3 at Germain Arena.

In another back and forth affair, the Steelheads jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the end of the first twenty minutes, with Jefferson Dahl scoring on the power play and Taylor Peters converting on a breakaway. The Dahl goal gave Idaho a power play tally in five straight games and Peters' goal was his second tally in as many nights.

The Everblades roared back in the second period with three goals in a span of 4:05 early in the frame. Matt Marquardt opened the scoring for Florida, followed shortly by goals from Brant Harris on a 2-on-1 and Willows' first of the night at the side of the net. That third goal chased Philippe Desrosiers from the nets, as Lagace came in to make 17 saves over the final 36:17.

The Steelheads responded to tie the game at 17:25 of the second, when Peters swung the puck in front from behind the net and onto the stick of Rob Linsmayer. Linsmayer slid the puck behind goaltender Anthony Peters to make it 3-3. Linsmayer now has a career-long eight game points streak, with three goals and 12 points over that stretch.

After putting up four points on Thursday night against Orlando, Colton Beck added another three assists against the Everblades. Beck now leads the ECHL in scoring with 16 points, one ahead of Florida's Marquardt.

The Steelheads meet the Everblades again on Saturday night, with puck-drop scheduled for 5pm MT at Germain Arena. The Steelheads are 0-3-2 in their last five games.
