Sacramento River Cats News Release

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento took it to the Salt Lake Bees Thursday night at Raley Field, jumping out to an 8-0 lead through the first three innings. Mac Williamson put on a show, going 4-for-4 and falling one leg short of the cycle as the River Cats rolled over Salt Lake 10-3.

Williamson drove a double off the wall in straight away center in his first at bat and didn't look back. Overall, the powerful right-hander reached base five times, going 4-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored, and three RBIs. His third-inning single chased home Adam Duvall for his first RBI of the night and he tallied two more with a monster home run to left field. The two-run shot landed on top of the home clubhouse and pushed the score to 10-2 in the fourth.

With a single, double, and home run through the first four innings, Williamson had an opportunity to complete the cycle in both the sixth and eighth innings. He tapped a soft pop up that fell between the pitcher and first baseman for an infield single in the sixth and drew a walk in the eighth. With the four-hit performance, Williamson bumped his average from .208 to .321 at Triple-A.

Williamson also demonstrated his impressive glove in right field, making a number of strong plays in the game including a running catch in foul territory and a sliding catch to end a Salt Lake rally in the fifth.

As a team, the River Cats recorded double-digit hits for the sixth time in their last nine games. In these three games against Salt Lake, Sacramento has totaled 44 hits and are hitting .352 (44-for-125).

Ty Blach (6-8, 4.26) made another solid start for the River Cats. He threw 6.2 innings, scattering 8 hits and walking 2 while striking out 3 en route to his sixth win of the season. Lefty Adam Wilk (3-6, 5.55) took the loss for Salt Lake.

The River Cats will go for their first home sweep tomorrow night behind right-hander Chris Stratton (0-1, 1.65). Stratton has posted a 1.65 ERA through five starts at Triple-A but is still searching for his first win. He is coming off the best start by a River Cats starter this season, an 8-inning shutout performance in Las Vegas. Opposing him will be the left-hander Tyler DeLoach (1-4, 5.54) for Salt Lake. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
