July 3, 2015 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

NEED TO KNOW: Cristhian Adames' walk-off home run gave the Albuquerque Isotopes (36-45) their third straight win, a 4-3 victory against the Reno Aces (37-44) Thursday night at Isotopes Park. Albuquerque will go for their first series sweep of the season Friday night at 7:05.

THE TURNING POINT: Both teams traded blows in the early going Thursday night with Albuquerque taking a 2-0 lead in the second inning on Tim Smalling's two-RBI single. Reno chipped away with a run in the third and two more in the sixth to take a 3-2 lead. It wasn't until Kyle Parker's leadoff triple in the eighth that the Isotopes' rally ignited. With the bases loaded and two outs, Roger Bernadina legged out an infield single to drive in Parker, tying the game at three through eight innings. After a 1-2-3 top of the ninth, Cristhian Adames blasted the second pitch he saw in the home half of the ninth over the right field wall to give the Isotopes a 4-3 win.

ATTA BOY ADAMES: Infielder Cristhian Adames didn't have his best night through the first eight innings, going hitless with four groundouts. It was his ninth inning at-bat that provided all the excitement for the evening with a walk-off solo home run to right field. During his last seven games, Adames is now batting .471 (16-for-34) with six runs scored, four doubles, two homers and 11 RBI.

STILL STREAKING: 2015 Triple-A All-Star Matt McBride extended his hitting streak to a team season-longest 16 games with his 2-for-4 game. During his streak, McBride is batting .429 (27-for-63) with 18 runs scored, 10 doubles, three homers and 15 RBI.

THE GRAY AREA: Right-handed pitcher Jon Gray turned in his ninth quality start of the season, allowing just three runs in his six innings of work. It is his eighth quality start in his last nine games. Gray also matched his season high of nine strikeouts against just three walks on the evening. The 23-year-old scattered six hits. 59 of his 102 pitches were strikes.

JULY 3rd FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA: Berm tickets for the Isotopes July 3rd fireworks extravaganza on Friday are now on sale. The fireworks will be presented by U.S. Bank, and the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program will provide a live music accompaniment.

ON DECK: The Isotopes and Aces will play the finale of their four-game series Friday night at 7:05. Right-handed pitcher Eddie Butler (1-2, 6.75 ERA) is scheduled to take the hill for Albuquerque, while right-hander Aaron Blair (2-1, 4.86 ERA) is slated to get the ball for Reno.

IN THE HOLE: After this brief four-game homestand, the Isotopes will hit the road for a nine-game road trip before the All-Star Break. Albuquerque will travel to Las Vegas for four games on July 4-7 before a five-game series on July 8-12 at El Paso. The Topes return home on July 16 to face the Las Vegas 51s after the Triple-A All-Star Break.
