Tulsa, OK (March 10th) - Devin Williams stopped 23 shots to help Tulsa skate away from Wichita on Saturday night with a 3-0 victory at the BOK Center.
Nick Riopel stopped 28 of 31 in the losing effort and kept his team in the game down the stretch.
Eric Drapluk gave the Oilers a 1-0 lead at 12:31 of the first. He fired a shot from the right circle that appeared to get deflected for his seventh of the season.
After a scoreless second, Tulsa tacked on a pair in the third. At 5:08, Evan Richardson caught a centering pass near the left post and buried it over Riopel's shoulder to make it 2-0. Adam Pleskach increased the lead to 3-0 as he re-directed a pass from Charlie Sampair past Riopel.
Wichita remains in third place in the Mountain Division despite the loss, three points ahead of Tulsa.
Wichita went 0-for-5 on the power play. Tulsa was 0-for-3 on the man advantage.
The Thunder remains in Tulsa tomorrow for an afternoon match-up against the Oilers at 4:05 p.m.
