BOISE, Idaho - For the second-straight night, the Kansas City Mavericks (30-27-2-2) fell by a 3-2 final score in overtime to the Idaho Steelheads (35-19-4-3) at CenturyLink Arena in Boise.

The game concludes the week's trip west for KC, a stretch in which the Mavericks claimed four of six possible points against the Mountain Division's top two teams.

The Mavericks lit the lamp first, jumping on top 1-0 with Jordan Kwas's 10th goal of the season on a rebound that he poked home for a power play goal. The lead was short-lived, though, as Idaho responded 100 seconds later, Brady Brassart with his 21st of the campaign.

The visitors controlled play in the first half of the second frame and were rewarded as Matt Robertson picked up a loose puck and beat the Steelheads' netminder on a breakaway to go ahead 2-1. Steve McParland knotted the game at two six minutes later, finding the back of the net to produce a tie one again through two periods.

After a scoreless third, the teams went to overtime once again, and McParland delivered the game-winner with less than a minute remaining in the bonus frame to seal the win for the home team.

The Mavericks are idle until Friday when they take on the Tulsa Oilers on the road in the first contest of a three-game weekend. The Oilers come to KC on Saturday and the Mavericks will host the Quad City Mallards on Sunday.
