Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
August 14, 2009 - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce that LHP Will Smith has been activated from the DL. Abe Flores, Director of Player Development for the LA Angels, announced the move on Friday.
Smith went on the DL July 12 with a lower back strain and is tied for the team lead with Ryan Chaffee in wins with eight.
To make room on the active roster, the Angels have given RHP Reyes Dorado his unconditional release. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster remains at the MWL maximum of 25 active players with four on the disabled list.
The playoff-bound Kernels wrap up a four game series tonight at 6:35 pm with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.kernels.com The opinions expressed in this release are those of the organization issuing it, and do not necessarily reflect the thoughts or opinions of OurSports Central or its staff.
