Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release
Midland, MI - The Fort Wayne TinCaps again dashed out to a 4-0 lead against the Great Lakes Loons, but the for the second straight game the Loons came back to beat Fort Wayne, this time by a 6-5 score, Friday at Dow Diamond. The TinCaps' next shot at setting the franchise record for wins will come Saturday at Parkview Field against the Dayton Dragons.
In the top of the 2nd , Zornes drew a two-out walk and Baum followed with a moonshot over the left-field wall which sailed all the way out of the facility. It was estimated to have traveled 420 feet. Two pitches later, Drake hit a high fly just inside the left-field foul pole to put Fort Wayne up, 3-0. Zornes came through with a home run of his own in the 4th inning to put the TinCaps ahead, 4-0.

In the 6th , Jerry Sands cracked a two-out, two-run triple to the gap in right-center to put the Loons ahead, 5-4.
That lead didn't last long. In the top of the 7th , Blake Tekotte worked a two-out walk and scored when Drew Cumberland plugged the gap in left-center to plate Tekotte and tie the game at 5-5.
Sands put the Loons ahead in the bottom of the 8th when he hit a 3-2 pitch over the wall in right- center, making it 6-5 Great Lakes.
Zornes was ejected in the bottom of the 6th for arguing balls and strikes from his catcher's spot. Daniel Robertson was ejected for the same reason after striking out in the top of the 7th .
Great Lakes RHP Jordan Pratt (3-4) pitched a scoreless 8th to pick up the win. LHP Cole St. Clair worked a perfect 9th inning to notch his 11th save. Fort Wayne RHP Eduardo Perez (4-2) was saddled with the loss.
