Bourquin Returning to West Michigan, Douglas to DL

COMSTOCK PARK -The West Michigan Whitecaps, in conjunction with the Detroit Tigers, announced today that first baseman Ronnie Bourquin has been reassigned to the Whitecaps from Double A Erie and second baseman Brandon Douglas has been placed on the disabled list. Bourquin, who started the season with the Whitecaps, was promoted to Erie in June and batted .228 with five home runs and 19 RBI in 37 games with the SeaWolves. Bourquin batted .304 with two home runs and 47 RBI in 62 games with West Michigan. Douglas, a 2009 Midwest League All-Star, is batting .333 with 34 RBI in 74 games with the Whitecaps.
