Kane County Cougars News Release

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Oakland Athletics, have announced that catcher Juan Nunez has been activated from the disabled list and is eligible for tonight's 6:30 p.m. game against the Quad Cities River Bandits. The Cougars now field a full 25-man active roster for the first time in more than three weeks as the squad concludes an eight-game homestand tonight at Elfstrom Stadium.

Nunez (Non-drafted FA, 2006) is ready for game action after spending more than a month on the disabled list with a knee injury. The 21-year old catcher had been inactive since July 8. This season, Nunez is batting .240 in 39 games with a home run and 10 RBI.

The Cougars (64-53, 23-24 2nd half) host the River Bandits in tonight's 6:30 p.m. game as righty Shawn Haviland (6-9, 4.33) opposes Kevin Thomas (5-7, 4.15). The first 2,000 fans who enter the ballpark receive a t-shirt, courtesy of Local 265 Sheet Metal Workers. Quick Change makes their Elfstrom Stadium debut this evening and fans will also be treated to post-game fireworks and a chance to run the bases.
