Wild assigns RW Foy to Aeros

HOUSTON, Texas - The National Hockey League's Minnesota Wild has assigned right wing Matt Foy to the American Hockey League's Houston Aeros, the teams announced Friday.

Foy, 22 (5/18/83), collected five points (2-3=5) and 16 penalty minutes in 19 games with Minnesota this season after being recalled by the team on October 1. The 6-foot-2, 219-pound native of Oakville, Ont., recorded an assist in his NHL debut on October 5 against the Calgary Flames and tallied his first two NHL goals against the Vancouver Canucks on October 12. Foy was selected by the Wild in the sixth round (No. 175 overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Foy spent the entire 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons with the Aeros, totaling 48 points (23-25=48) and 152 penalty minutes in 120 games. Houston was 8-1-2-0 last season when he scored a goal.
