
Warriors Split Weekend Series in Maine

PORTLAND, ME. - The Santa Cruz Warriors fell to the Maine Red Claws, 111-100, at the Expo Center on Saturday night, splitting the weekend series 1-1.
Mychel Thompson led the Warriors with a game-high 27 points on a 9 of 17 shooting effort. James Michael McAdoo notched a double-double, recording 12 points and 10 rebounds. Ognjen Kuzmic, on assignment from the Golden State Warriors, also recorded a double-double, with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Sean Kilpatrick had 19 points and 5 rebounds.
Andre Stringer led Maine to victory, posting a career-high 23 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Chris Babb tallied 21 points and 8 rebounds, while Tim Frazier added 18.
Santa Cruz started out strong, building an early 32-25 lead, while owning a 75% field goal percentage heading into the second quarter. The Warriors kept the Red Claws at bay, finishing the second quarter on a 12-2 run behind Mychel Thompson's 19 first-half points.
Maine came out firing in the second half, seeing a record-breaking 42-point quarter. The Warriors would head into the fourth quarter at a 13-point deficit.
Though Santa Cruz would pull within four by holding Maine scoreless for six minutes, an Andre Stringer three pointer would seal the Red Claws win as they cruised to a 111-100 victory.
The Santa Cruz Warriors continue their four-game road trip at the Delaware 87ers, the affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, at 4:00 p.m. PST.
