
Bighorns' 18 Point Lead Couldn't Hold off Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. - Despite seven Bighorns scoring in double digits, and an 18 point lead by the Bighorns in the second quarter, it wasn't enough to hold off the Oklahoma City Blue, taking a 130-127 loss at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
The Bighorns were paced by forward Ra'Shad James with 25 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Brady Heslip followed James closely, netting 22 points, and adding three rebounds. Quincy Miller totaled nine blocked shots, while David Stockton tallied four blocks and four assists.
Xavier Alexander led the Blue with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Grant Jerrett and Reggie Williams netted 22 points each. Jerrett finished with 11 rebounds, while Williams added eight rebounds and seven assists.
The Bighorns came onto the court on fire, totaling 36 points in the first quarter, and sinking nine points in the first minute of the game. David Wear led the Bighorns in the quarter netting eight points and adding three rebounds. James and Stockton both added seven points. The Bighorns led the Blue by 15 points midway through the quarter.
In the second, Heslip led the Bighorns with six points and two rebounds. Miller ended the quarter with five points and six blocks, finishing the first half of the game with eight blocked shots.
The Bighorns went into the locker room at the half leading the Blue 66-58 and shooting 45.5% from behind the arc compared to the Blue's 12.5%.
During the third quarter of play, the Blue briefly ceased the lead for the first time in the game. Heslip led the Bighorns during the quarter with eight points while Miller added six.
During the final quarter, Ra'Shad James totaled 11 points and two assist. Miller finished with six points in the quarter. The Bighorns will go on the road for a two-game away trip, beginning with the Austin Spurs Sunday, Jan. 11 at 3 P.M. PST. Reno returns home Saturday, Jan. 24 to host the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
