Cleveland Charge News Release
The Canton Charge, presented by SecureData 365 and powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, have acquired forward/center Alex Kirk (7'0", 245, New Mexico), the team announced today. The Charge maintained Kirk's D-League rights after he exceeded the 10 game minimum on assignment with Canton this season. He will be active for tonight's home game against Westchester (7:00 p.m.).
Kirk has played in 13 games (all starts) for the Charge this season with averages of 16.5 points on .494 shooting, 7.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 32.2 minutes per game. He joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in training camp and played in five games this season before being traded to the New York Knicks on January 5th. He was waived by the Knicks on January 7th.
Canton returns to the Civic Center on Saturday, January 10th at 7:00 p.m. for a matchup with the Westchester Knicks (New York Knicks affiliate)!
