
Warriors Look to Remain Undefeated Heading into October

MOOSE JAW, Sask. - The Moose Jaw Warriors are looking to remain undefeated as they head into the first weekend of October.
Last game, the Warriors scored six unanswered goals to secure their third win of the season. After an early goal by the Broncos, the Warriors were able to tie the game towards the end of the first period after Captain Lynden Lakovic potted his first goal of the season on a successful penalty shot attempt.
Gage Nagel potted the first goal of his WHL career to put the Warriors up by one. Colt Carter, Casey Brown, and Noah Degenstein each added a goal, and Lynden Lakovic tallied his second of the evening for a final score of 6 - 1.
20-year-olds Pavel McKenzie and Ethan Semeniuk are tied for most points on the team with two goals and five assists for seven points through three games played. 20-year-old defenceman Aiden Ziprick ranks second on the team for most assists with four through three games.
16-year-old defenceman Colt Carter leads all Moose Jaw Warriors rookies with three goals and three assists through three games. Second year forward, Casey Brown ranks fifth in the WHL for goals scored with four through three games played.
In Regina on Thursday night, the Edmonton Oil Kings downed the Pats 4 - 3 to mark their third win of the season. Miroslav Holinka and Gavin Hodnett potted two early goals for the Oil Kings. Julien Maze for the Pats brought the Pats back within one near the beginning of the second period. Holinka added his second of the night, short-handed. The Pats pushed again with goals from Ellis Mieyette and Keets Fawcett to tie the score, but Andrew O'Neill sent home the game-winning goal for the Oil Kings early in the third period.
