Hitmen Acquire Flames Prospect Theo Stockselius from Seattle

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen have acquired the rights to Calgary Flames Prospect Theo Stockselius from the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2027 WHL Prospects Draft, a conditional sixth-round pick in 2026, a conditional first-round pick in 2027 (Calgary's pick), and a conditional fifth-round pick in 2029.

The Calgary Flames selected Theo Stockselius from Djurgården of the Swedish Hockey League with the 54th overall pick in the 2025 NHL draft. The Seattle Thunderbirds then drafted him 83rd overall in the 2025 CHL Import Draft.

In the 2024-25 SHL season, the 18-year-old registered 51 points (22g, 29a) in 40 games for Djurgården IF J20. He has represented Sweden in U18 competition where he recorded 14 points (5g, 9a) in 23 games. Stockselius also won a silver medal with Team Sweden at the 2025 U18 World Championships.
