Worcester, Mass. - Ryan Vesce scored two goals and added an assist to help the Worcester Sharks defeat the Sound Tigers 4-1 at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA. Claude Lemieux and Tom Cavanagh also had tallies in the game for the Sharks. Blake Comeau scored the lone goal for the Sound Tigers. Peter Mannino was in goal for the Sound Tigers and was peppered with 42 shots and turned aside 39 while Thomas Greiss was in between the pipes for Worcester and made 23 saves to earn the win. The Sound Tigers' record drops to 15-5-0-2, leaving them with 32 points.

Worcester would carry the play, led by the newest member of their team Claude Lemieux, who fired four shots on Mannino in the first period. The best chance came on a rush from the 18-year veteran where he skated into the Sound Tigers zone and snapped a shot through a screen. Mannino did not see the shot until the last possible second and was able to redirect the shot into the corner. After playing in his first NHL game last night in Boston, Mannino returned to the Sound Tigers' goal-crease and stopped all 15 shots he faced in the opening period.

Comeau would open the scoring for the Sound Tigers in the second period. The puck was rimmed around the boards to Ben Walter who was behind the Sharks' net. Walter out-raced a Worcester defenseman and threw the puck in front to Comeau, where he one-timed the puck past Greiss for the 1-0 Sound Tiger lead. Comeau's fourth tally of the season came at 17:18 of the middle frame. Vesce would even the score just over a minute later with his third marker this season. The goal would snap Mannino's shutout streak against the Sharks this season at 98:18. Patrick Traverse and Andrew Desjardins would have the assists on the goal, tying the score at 1-1 going into the third period.

Vesce would take the lead for the Sharks 13:37 into the third period with his second goal of the game. Traverse looked up from the point and sent a shot towards Vesce who was in the high slot. Vesce redirected the puck over the shoulder of Mannino for his fourth goal of the season. Desjardins had the second assist on the goal. Lemieux would make the score 3-1 in favor of Worcester when he wristed his first goal in only his second game this season. Cory Larose and Tom Cavanagh assisted on the goal coming at 17:20. Cavanagh would seal the win for the Sharks with an empty-net goal to make the score 4-1. Vesce would assist on Cavanagh's ninth marker this season.

Mannino finished the game with 39 saves on 42 shots while Greiss earned the win stopping 23 of the 24 shots he faced. The Sound Tigers were 0-for-6 on the power-play while Worcester was 0-for-3 on the man-advantage.

Next up for the Sound Tigers is a match-up with the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The Sound Tigers will look for the same outcome they had last night in their 4-1 victory over the Wolf Pack at Arena at Harbor Yard.
